Vadhya-Sangam: Instrumental Competition

Vadhya-Sangam

RULES:
• Two entries per college will be allowed.
• It is an individual event.

COMPETITION REQUIREMENTS
• Participants can use any instrument: keyboard or piano, guitar, violin, viola, tabla, pakhawaj, harmonium, flute, sitar, sarod, etc
• The use of a metronome is allowed if needed.
• Instruments should be tuned before the performance.
• Instruments have to be brought by the participant themselves and won’t be provided by the university.

COMPETITION RESTRICTIONS
• Automatically generated rhythms or music, as well as music stored in the instrument’s memory, cannot be used to support the performance.

COMPETITION JUDGEMENT
• Participants will be judged on the basis of rhythm and timing, complexity of notes, accuracy of notes, and adhesion to time.
• The judges’ decisions will be final.
• Following the announcement of the results, no questions or objections will be entertained.
